How about a vacation to Andes for 72 days? It's a mountainous site... temperature at -37 degrees... with no food. No? Of course... how can anyone survive.
Well actually... this is a true story... and not a vacation. The story can be found in this month's issue of Readers' Digest (page 119). It's about a team of Rugby players... they were suppose to go to a country for a match. But the plane crashed in the Andes (ice mountains). The story writes about his feelings... his thoughts... and how they fight and never gave up to survive. A group of players were left stranded there... with rescue reluctant to help as it was dangerous flying in coz of the bad weather condition.
Food ration was running out... where to get food? They had no choice but to feed on the dead's flesh... they really had no choice. 3 people decided to set off and find help... as nobody would rescue them... and they wouldn't want to see each other die. After quite some time, the 2 who set out (1 went back), found Alpine trees... a herd of cow.. lifeform!!
Yup... and they found the farmers... the farmers get help from the police... police come in helicpoter to rescue them... as it was Spring, so it wasn't so windy. They were all sent to the hospital then. They survived the weather condition... loss weight... and stay alived for 72 days!
A great narration.
